Shank Neck Specifics
Common Heads Coil Silk Hair (Percival Harris Patent) or Mohair
Light or almost teal blue eye shadow is most common
Single stroke top and bottom eye liner
that connects at the outside of edge of the eye.
Black eyes with white dot is the identifying feature.
The eyes usually face forward, have a
"wandering" eye or are side glancing.
Authentic smokers are rare but they are out there.
Authentic bodies are all cloth however, the hands are sometimes
replaced with "mail order" composition or celluloid claw hands.
This is the head they used on the Buster Brown Dolls.
Gerling Heads Usually human hair wig but sometimes replaced with mohair.
Side curls are sometimes nailed on with tacks.
Light blue, lavender, mauve eye shadow.
Single stroke top and bottom eye liner that do not connect
but rather go out with a space between is the identifying feature.
Black eyes with white "slash" rather than a dot.
Bee sting lips. Authentic bodies are all cloth.
