 AUTHENTIC DOLL FACE EXAMPLES

CUBEBS
As Cubebs were all hand painted,
they are usually somewhat similar but do maintain variances.
~ Hair ~
Short toddler style mohair
(brown & brick red tones)
Coiled "Princess Leia" type silk floss
(black, white, yellow blond, pink, lavender)
~ Eyebrows ~
Single stroke or feathered usually in lighter brown
~ Eyelid - Eye Shadow ~
Dark Taupe, Brown, Gray, Plum or Blue.
Some have a crease line
~ Eyeliner - Eyes ~
Most with mohair wigs were solid black Side Glancing to the Left
But you will notice two in the examples that are looking to the Right
Top and bottom eyeliner going up on the outside corner of the eyes.
Dolls with silk floss coiled hair had blue or brown eyes.

~ Cheeks - Blush - Beauty Marks ~
Originally had light pink/peach blush on cheeks
but over time, may have faded. Also may have had blush on the ears and
sometimes the tops of the hands.
There is only one with a beauty mark in this group -- a kissing cubeb.
~ Smoker or Kissing ~
Most were smokers. There is one here that was not.
Cigarettes are wooden dowels
measuring approx. 3/16" by 1 1/4 - 1 1/2" long
